چکیده
We analyze the large degree asymptotic behavior of matrix valued orthogonal polynomials (MVOPs), with a weight that consists Jacobi scalar factor and part. Using Riemann–Hilbert formulation for MVOPs Deift–Zhou method steepest descent, we obtain expansions as tends to infinity, in different regions complex plane (outside interval orthogonality, on away from endpoints neighborhoods endpoints), well coefficients three-term recurrence relation these MVOPs. The analysis follows work Kuijlaars, McLaughlin, Van Assche Vanlessen Jacobi-type polynomials, but it also requires several factorizations part weight, terms eigenvalues/eigenvectors using Szegő function. illustrate results two main examples, Gegenbauer type, coming group theory.

On Orthogonal Matrix Polynomials
In this paper we deal with orthogonal matrix polynomials. First of all, we establish some basic notations and results we need later. A matrix polynomial P is a matrix whose entries are polynomials, or, equivalently, a combination P(t) = A 0 +A 1 t+ +A n t n , where A 0 ; ; A n are numerical matrices (the size of all the matrices which appear in this paper is N N). A positive deenite matrix of m...
متن کاملZeros and ratio asymptotics for matrix orthogonal polynomials
Ratio asymptotics for matrix orthogonal polynomials with recurrence coefficients An and Bn having limits A and B respectively (the matrix Nevai class) were obtained by Durán. In the present paper we obtain an alternative description of the limiting ratio. We generalize it to recurrence coefficients which are asymptotically periodic with higher periodicity, or which are slowly varying in functio...
متن کاملRelative Asymptotics for Orthogonal Matrix Polynomials with Convergent Recurrence Coefficients
The asymptotic behavior of #n (d;) #n (d:) and Pn (x, d;) P n (x, d:) is studied. Here (#n (.))n are the leading coefficients of the orthonormal matrix polynomials Pn (x, .) with respect to the matrix measures d; and d: which are related by d;(u)= d:(u)+ k=1 Mk$(u&ck), where Mk are positive definite matrices, $ is the Dirac measure and ck lies outside the support of d: for k=1, ..., N. Finally,...
متن کاملRatio Asymptotics for Orthogonal Matrix Polynomials with Unbounded Recurrence Coefficients
In this work is presented a study on matrix biorthogonal polynomials sequences that satisfy a nonsymmetric recurrence relation with unbounded coefficients. The ratio asymptotic for this family of matrix biorthogonal polynomials is derived in quite general assumptions. It is considered some illustrative examples.
متن کاملUniform Asymptotics for Orthogonal Polynomials
We consider asymptotics of orthogonal polynomials with respect to a weight e ?Q(x) dx on R, where either Q(x) is a polynomial of even order with positive leading coeecient, or Q(x) = NV (x), where V (x) is real analytic on R and grows suuciently rapidly as jxj ! 1. We formulate the orthogonal polynomial problem as a Riemann-Hilbert problem following the work of Fokas, Its and Kitaev. We employ ...
